Yes, that’s right folks you’ve read my subject line correctly. I, Greg Mitchell, am back in Atlanta GA after 7 years of Cali grinding. You’re probably wondering “but why would you come back to that poe dunk town Greg?” The answer is simple. I got a good job at game studio and they relocated me from SF to ATL. So far working has been pretty solid. I like the style of the game and they let me have a lot of freedom to explore new ideas. They’re also pretty hands off with management which I enjoy.

But how do I enjoy being in Atlanta again? Well I’ve pushed to make it a “Happier” city than the Atlanta I remember by being near public transit and bikeable places but I have to say that I’m still having a hard time adjusting. I’ve been here since late September of 2019 and I find myself really missing water, better transit, more excitement and people with more forward thinking ambition. Also hotter people on average. Perhaps I’ll adjust with time but man how longgg?

So far the best thing about being here has been leaving. The airport is amazing and I’ve enjoying using my family Delta flight privileges. I just went to Germany yall!! That’ll be separate post.

However one thing that has been exciting is getting back into digital painting prime form! The best way to paint digital is to have your feet on the ground and improve traditionally so I hosted a watercolor portrait session the other day that I really enjoyed. I’ve also been sketching people with my phone while I’m on the train to work. Checks it outs belowsss.
