Design. I do a lot of things when it comes to art but I’d have to say that design is definitely my favorite. I mean with it, you have the language to write a new world into existence and not just spend your time painting within this one. In this particular picture I stylized every piece of what I saw. The Clouds, the building blocks, the trees, everything. After the initial excitement of designing the layout, I move into paint and polish to really bring the world to life. I don’t think people care about design too much these days ( or at least not unique ones)…which is a shame. Or if they do, it’s rarely ever paired with solid color and light. When you combine the 3 (design, color and light) you can truly manifest something the human registers as real. Then their own imagine starts to churn and that’s when you know you’ve really done something! I don’t think I’m there yet but with these upcoming projects I hope to begin.
