Quick Life Sketch1

I’m calling this number one because prior to this sketch speed was never a priority when it came to my color warm ups or studies. Granted I would churn them out relatively fast but no matter what I would never move on until the color was perfect (better than photo real!). Now that I feel have developed decent color accuracy I can begin to cut my production time. Long ago when I got my first job at  Kroger Supermarkets I started off as a bagger and I tried to bag all of the items as fast as I could. My manager came up to me within a few days after  receiving numerous complaints about my bagging quality. I was putting cans in the same bag as eggs and bread….complete scrub move. When he came up to me he was not angry at all but simply said “Slow down, do it right and the speed will come.” Since then I’ve tried my best to apply that line in many aspects of my life even it meant falling behind my peers in performance. Now I can finally remove my ankle weights with this art stuff and begin churning out works at 3 to 4 times the speed and hopefully uping the detail and quality. Unless its a long piece in which I still take forever on  hahaha. This took 45 min.34_starbucks
