I sketched this piece while I was watching Don Han’s documentary “Waking Sleeping Beauty.” I thought the movie was incredible not just because of the story but because it really struck a cord with me personally. The passion, the drive the and resilience that each and every member of the Disney force had was able to move mountains far beyond their wildest dreams. They took risks and plunged deep into a pool of creativity that to this day has not yet been repeated on such a large scale (except maybe with Prince of Egypt…). I’m not too sure what the future holds right now for animation, I only hope another perfect storm of events happens again in my lifetime…and I get to be a part of it….of course..haha
